Dry Eye Treatments If you are one of many Americans who find themselves with the diagnosis of Dry Eye Syndrome there are over the counter eye drops to treat this condition. For mild dry eyes bottled tears are sufficient, but for more severe dry eye, preservative free tears are recommended. When these are not sufficient, then prescription drops are added along with plugging of the tear ducts that normally drain the tears from the eyes. Dry eye treatments are done to treat damaged cells and to prevent further damage from continuing (since that leads to blurred vision in addition to discomfort.)
